The full show

Climate Bill Numbers – The climate bill working its way through congress right now will have major impacts on our economy, especially employment rates. There’s a lot of conversation as to whether the bill would help or harm the economy. To put the conflicting information into context we turn to the source of the projections: the numbers.

Downeast Conservation – Fired up by the fear of development, a tenacious group of Mainers negotiates with a timber company to buy and protect 340,000 acres of forested land.

Chemicals and Cholesterol – PFC chemicals, which are widespread in industrial and commercial products, have recently been linked to elevated levels of cholesterol in the body.

Squatting the Berlin Wall – The Iron Curtain divided eastern and Western Europe for almost 40 years, but in the process, it provided a safe haven for biodiversity and people. A trailer community sprouted up along the path of the Berlin Wall soon after it came down in 1989. Almost 20 years later the Lohmule community is still a model for low-impact urban living.
